We had a truly authentic countryside experience at El Tio Hostal. The rustic atmosphere and warm hospitality of the owner made us feel right at home. The cozy rooms and comfortable beds provided a peaceful night's sleep. We loved exploring the nearby hiking trails and immersing ourselves in nature. While there was no Wi-Fi in the hostel, it was a welcome break to disconnect and enjoy the tranquility. Despite a few minor inconveniences like limited hot water and lack of soap for dishes, we still highly recommend this unique and affordable retreat. our stay at El Tio Hostal was exceptional.

José, the host, was wonderful and helped us with everything we needed. The blankets provided kept us warm during the chilly nights. Buses to nearby towns were easily accessible. it was a peaceful and soul-soothing experience.

We had an incredible stay at a charming hostel near Otavalo. The rooms were beautifully handmade and comfortable, and the family who runs the hostel made us feel like part of their own. The surrounding farm and quiet town of Illuman provided a peaceful and relaxing experience. We enjoyed exploring the area, with helpful tips from the manager. Despite a few minor issues with the kitchen and toilets, the overall structure of the hostel was good. The healing atmosphere, friendly animals, and beautiful gardens made our stay truly special. we highly recommend this hostel for a unique and heartwarming experience.

Amazingly healing and peaceful place with beautiful people, animals, and plants. The owners were very helpful and friendly, providing tea and wifi while waiting for pick-up. The cob houses with grass roofs added a unique touch. The cozy shared kitchen allowed for socializing with other guests and the family. The surrounding nature was breathtaking, perfect for a countryside getaway.
The common areas could have been cleaner and there was no heating in the rooms, so it got a bit cold. The location was a bit remote from the town, making it difficult to access necessities like vegetables and fruits.
